Technically no, but it is highly recommended to buy a storage unit lock sometimes referred to as a disc lock. Normal padlocks are easy to cut and destroy, while a storage unit lock protects it’s metal bar making the lock almost impossible to saw or break off, maximizing the safety of your possessions.
